The actor-turned-politician has been summoned by the Central Bureau of Investigation for questioning on March 15 in connection with the Karur stampede case.
The information was revealed by the authorities and reported by Press Trust of India, stating that Vijay has been summoned by the CBI headquarters in Delhi for questioning on March 15, despite a request by Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam chief for a 15-day extension due to political engagements.

Other political leaders also summoned
The investigation agency has also asked Senthil Balaji to appear before it on March 17. Balaji confirmed the summons in a post on social media, stating that he would appear before the agency and provide clarifications regarding the incident.
"Regarding the Karur tragic incident, conflicting reports have surfaced in some media outlets about the summons issued by the CBI," he wrote, adding that he intended to comply with the notice and answer the agency’s questions.
Officials said Vijay had initially been asked to appear on March 10 but sent a formal request seeking more time. He also requested that questioning take place at the CBI’s office in Chennai or another location in Tamil Nadu.
Sources indicated that the agency may consider his request regarding the location and could issue a fresh notice if required. Vijay was previously questioned by the CBI earlier this year on January 12 and January 19 as part of the same investigation.
