Two twin brothers allegedly carried out a series of motorcycle thefts by exploiting their identical appearance, police said after arresting them in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Monday. The brothers, residents of Delhi, are accused of stealing bikes across Delhi and nearby areas by repeatedly switching roles to avoid identification.
According to police, the accused has been identified as Arman and Ulman, part of a four-member bike theft gang. Investigators said the brothers were inspired by the 2013 Bollywood film ‘Dhoom 3’, in which actor Aamir Khan portrayed twin characters involved in crimes.

Police sources said the twins, who look almost identical and often wear similar clothes, used their resemblance to confuse eyewitnesses and mislead investigators. In several instances, one brother would remain seated at a shop or public place, while the other would steal motorcycles and flee. They also frequently exchanged clothes and roles to avoid suspicion.
A police official said even officers initially faced difficulty distinguishing between the two due to their appearance and coordinated movements. However, following surveillance and investigation, police arrested all four gang members on Monday.
During the operation, police recovered 15 stolen motorcycles and several bike parts. The total value of the recovered vehicles is estimated at around ₹15 lakh, police said.

The brothers allegedly targeted motorcycles parked near residential colonies, housing societies, offices and factories. Police said their method made it difficult to clearly identify the perpetrators through CCTV footage and eyewitness descriptions.
Further investigation is underway to determine the full extent of the gang’s activities.
