Haryana Police have arrested an individual on charges of espionage at the Ambala Air Force Station. It is being alleged that the accused shared sensitive information, gathered through spying, with Pakistan. The alleged spy has been identified as Sunil Kumar. It is being known that Kumar is a resident of Sabka village in Ambala. For the past seven months, the alleged spy has been in touch with a woman in Pakistan through social media, The Hindu reported.

Official suspect honey trap

On this incident, a senior official has been quoted by The Hindu, saying, "Through technical evidence we found that the accused was in touch with a contractor working at the Air Force station where he frequently visited and later shared the photographs and videos of the station with the woman over social media." The official added that the accused might have fallen into a honey trap.

Virender Kumar, DSP (Crime), Ambala, said, "The accused was using the social media platform to transfer information related to the Air Force station to the woman who is based out of Pakistan."

Minor arrested on espionage suspicions in Punjab

This arrest comes after Punjab police nabbed a 15-year-old boy from Pathankot on charges of spying for Pakistan's intelligence agency, the ISI. Punjab Police said the minor had allegedly been sharing sensitive information with handlers across the border for almost a year. Officials described the data as highly important and a serious threat to national security.

The arrest has shocked the security agencies and sparked new worries about how young people are being targeted.

Police sources said the boy was in direct contact with handlers in Pakistan and shared information through various digital platforms. Investigators believe he was slowly pulled into the network and manipulated over time.

Officers said minors are being targeted more often because they raise less suspicion and can be easily influenced with money or false promises. The police added that the teenager may not have fully understood how serious his actions were when he was first contacted.
