A violent assault over a property dispute at east Delhi's Laxmi Nagar has flared into outrage after allegations by the wife of a businessman of sexual assault and brutal attacks on family members. The incident, which occurred on Friday, included an attack by a group of men on a 52-year-old businessman, his wife, and their 26-year-old son over the ownership of a gym located in the basement of their house.

Videos of the assault have surfaced on social media, where the son of the family is seen being dragged out of the ground-floor flat, abused, stripped naked publicly, and beaten repeatedly. He was allegedly kicked and slapped in the face with a shoe when the people present there watched.

‘Dragged, beaten, humiliated’

As per a report by the Hindustan Times, the businessman’s wife revealed that her husband was also made to strip naked and beaten with an iron rod inside the gym. When she attempted to intervene, she was physically assaulted and sexually harassed, the wife told Hindustan Times.

Talking about the disrobing and beating of her son in the presence of others, she stated, "My son was assaulted naked. He kept pleading with folded hands...people were watching. Is this less than a rape?” " When I tried to save him, they slapped me and kicked me. They pulled my hair and pushed me, due to which I fell on the ground. They also touched me inappropriately, " she said.

The woman said she rushed to the Laxmi Nagar police station in a desperate attempt to get some aid. During the woman's absence, the assailants allegedly pulled the woman's son out of the house.

Gym ownership dispute

The family had set up a gym inside their basement in 2016 and had hired Satish Yadav alias Pintoo, one of the accused, as a caretaker, according to the woman. Later, he allegedly started controlling the place and did not leave despite several notices issued to him.

She said that it started when water entered our house on Friday afternoon and filled the entire ground floor. She said the family attempted to contact Pintoo to unlock the gym but received no response. “As the property belongs to us, we went to remove the lock,” she added, following which Pintoo and the other men allegedly reached the spot.
