A casual invitation to a colleague’s birthday party turned into a nightmare for a woman. According to the Udaipur Police, a female manager of a private IT firm was gang raped upon attending a party hosted by her company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) last Saturday.
As per a report by the Hindustan Times, the woman was one of the invitees who was supposed to attend the birthday party. At the end of the party and when other people had left, she was left alone with her workmates, according to police.

Offered a ride home, then alleged intoxication
As per the report by Hindustan Times, in the police statement, the woman said that the female executive head of the company was offering to drop her home. She accepted the offer and got into the car; the CEO and the husband of the female executive head, a resident of Meerut, were also in the car.
In their journey by car, it has been alleged that the group made a stop at a shop. As reported by PTI, it was an article resembling cigarettes that the accused bought for that woman. As reported earlier by the Hindustan Times, it was liquor that was purchased, and she was forced to drink.
The female alleged that she first started feeling sick and lost consciousness after taking this substance. She regained consciousness to find that she was being raped in a moving car. She tried to fight back, but all three accused were allegedly involved in raping her.
Dragged through early morning, then dropped home
The woman also told the police that she was held inside the car until the early hours of the morning. She was eventually dropped off at her home. Being in pain and weak, she later went for a medical checkup at a private hospital.
According to her, a medical report confirmed that there had been sexual assault, which made her file a complaint against the accused with the Sukher police station.

Arrests made, investigation underway
Reportedly, from her complaints, the police have recorded a case under appropriate sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. On Thursday, the CEO and the woman executive head, with her husband, were taken into custody after police questioned them. Udaipur police chief Yogesh Goyal said that the three were produced before the judiciary and sent into police custody for four days. It is currently conducting investigations led by Additional Superintendent of Police Madhuri Verma, with further inquiry still being done.
