With Samrat Choudhary set to take over as Bihar's Chief Minister, his educational background has again drawn attention. While political opponents have questioned his academic credentials, supporters say his governance experience matters more than formal degrees.
Academic record and debate
As per his election affidavit on My Neta, Choudhary studied at Madurai Kamaraj University and holds a Pre-Foundation Course (PFC) qualification.

He is also reported to have an honorary Doctor of Letters (D.Lit.), a title awarded as recognition rather than through formal academic coursework. This has further contributed to public debate over his qualifications.
Experience over formal education
Choudhary has consistently emphasised his administrative and political experience. Over the years, he has held several key roles, including ministerial positions and the post of deputy chief minister. His supporters point to this track record as evidence of his capability in governance.
Critics, however, maintain that clarity around educational credentials remains important in public life.
Political journey and strong base
Choudhary entered politics in the 1990s and has since built a steady presence in Bihar's political landscape. He has served as a legislator and handled departments such as agriculture, urban development, and Panchayati Raj.
