An emotional goodbye
On Friday, before the transfer to AIIMS, the family held a farewell at their Rajnagar Extension home in Ghaziabad. In a 22-second emotional clip, Rana’s family is seen spending their final moments with him. His mother sat close by, clearly devastated, while a Brahma Kumaris sister applied a tilak on his forehead.
"Forgive everyone, ask forgiveness from all, now it's time to go. It's okay," she stated.
Doctors at AIIMS will slowly withdraw life-sustaining support under medical supervision. This is the first time an Indian court has approved the removal of not just ventilator support, but also feeding tubes and other artificial medical assistance.
