PM Modi assures support for Indians stuck in West Asia, thanks Gulf nations for ‘utmost care’ for expats

PM Modi assures Indians in West Asia that the government is closely monitoring the Iran–US crisis and will ensure no citizen is left stranded.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday assured that India is taking all necessary steps to support its citizens in West Asia as tensions escalate due to the ongoing Iran–US conflict. Speaking at an event in Kochi, the Prime Minister said the government is closely tracking developments in the region and remains committed to the safety of Indian nationals.

Government monitoring situation closely

Addressing the gathering, Modi said India today stands firmly with its citizens abroad and works to ensure they are not left without support during crises.

The remarks come at a time when concerns are growing about the safety of thousands of Indian nationals in West Asia as the conflict between Iran and the US intensifies.

Gratitude to Gulf nations for supporting Indians

During his address, the Prime Minister also acknowledged the role played by Gulf countries in ensuring the welfare of Indian expatriates during the current tensions.

“Gulf countries are giving the utmost care to Indians working there. I am grateful to them for that,” Modi said.

Modi also criticised the opposition Indian National Congress, accusing it of politicising issues related to the West Asia crisis.

He said matters concerning the safety and welfare of Indian citizens abroad should not become subjects of political debate.
