The 2026 edition of the Indian Premier League is no longer only about fierce battles on the field. Off-field incidents, player conduct, and social media activities are now becoming equally significant talking points. While franchises continue to focus on performances with bat and ball, teams have also started implementing stricter internal rules to avoid unnecessary controversies during the crucial phase of the tournament.
Punjab Kings stop Arshdeep Singh from vlogging during IPL
Punjab Kings have reportedly taken a strong stance on maintaining discipline inside the camp. Young pacer Arshdeep Singh, known for entertaining fans through behind-the-scenes vlogs and dressing-room content, has now been asked to stop creating vlogs during the IPL season.

Look at Yuzvendra Chahal, man. He was risking everyone’s safety by vaping an e-cigarette inside the flight while Shashank Singh and other Punjab Kings players were around him. 👀

The franchise believes that the tournament has entered a decisive stage and players must keep their complete attention on cricket. Team management is understood to be concerned that videos featuring travel details, dressing-room interactions, or internal conversations could unintentionally create controversy or reveal sensitive information. As a result, the franchise has decided to restrict social media content from inside the team environment.
Chahal controversy puts franchises on alert
At the same time, another controversy involving Yuzvendra Chahal has added to concerns among IPL teams. Discussions intensified after a video allegedly showed Chahal vaping during a flight. The clip reportedly surfaced through one of Arshdeep’s vlogs, once again bringing player behaviour under scrutiny.

Following the incident, several franchises have become increasingly cautious regarding social media access and content sharing. Delhi Capitals are also believed to have introduced stricter guidelines for players, support staff, and even family members travelling with the squad. Teams reportedly want all photos and videos from inside the camp to remain private until the season concludes.
Meanwhile, the Punjab Kings are also dealing with growing pressure in the playoff race. Despite losing three consecutive matches after a strong start, PBKS remain second on the table with 13 points from 10 games. Their upcoming fixtures in Dharamshala against the Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru could define their playoff hopes.
