The 2026 FIFA World Cup is still weeks away, but ticket prices have already sparked global discussion. The biggest shock came after a resale listing priced a single final ticket at $11.5 million, even though the seat is reportedly far from premium.

A record-breaking price for an ordinary seat

An official FIFA World Cup 2026 final ticket has recently been sold in the resale market for an astounding amount of $11.5 million. The most shocking thing about the ticket sale is that it did not include any VIP experience and was stated to be one of the worst seats in terms of view in the stadium.

This particular seat is found in Block 307, Row 22, Seat 12, and belongs to the upper level of the MetLife Stadium. Despite this fact, the ticket sale has become one of the biggest talking points in the sporting world, according to The Times of India.

World Cup ticket prices continue to soar

The latest announcement has fueled speculation regarding ticket prices for the 2026 tournament, which will be co-hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico. The pricing model of FIFA has been questioned before regarding increasing prices and the pricing model, particularly for the matches that are set to take place in the USA.

According to sources, even tickets for ordinary games are now worth more than $1,000 on reselling websites. The final game of the World Cup is slated to take place at MetLife Stadium on July 19. It would draw huge global attention.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino justified their pricing model recently when he said that the organisation had to apply market rates in such an entertainment destination as the United States of America.

Fans react to the massive resale listing

This kind of reaction is happening across the web due to the high resale price of the tickets. Many people feel that the cost of a match ticket is now too expensive for the average fan.
