Who should avoid chia seeds?
Patients with low blood pressure
Chia seeds are extremely beneficial for patients with high blood pressure. But if blood pressure is always low, then it's better not to consume these seeds. Chia seeds contain high levels of potassium and omega-3 fatty acids, which help reduce blood pressure. Therefore, consuming these seeds with low blood pressure can cause the pressure to drop further and create danger.
When taking blood-thinning medications
Many people take blood-thinning medications to reduce the risk of heart disease. In that case, there's no need to consume chia seeds anymore. Chia seeds thin the blood and prevent blood clotting. Taking chia seeds along with aspirin or blood-thinning medications will increase the risk of bleeding. Then even minor cuts and scrapes won't stop bleeding.
Kidney patients
Chia seeds contain components like potassium, phosphorus, and oxalates. These can create kidney stones. Moreover, if you don't drink adequate water, kidney problems increase further. Therefore, kidney patients need to be cautious before consuming chia seeds. Consult with a doctor if necessary.

When the body is dehydrated
Chia seeds absorb large amounts of water. If your body is dehydrated and you still consume chia seeds, then problems will increase.
