Where Christmas began, and what the story really means

Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ and conveys the message of love, joy, and hope to the world.

Every year on December 25, people celebrate Christmas. It is mainly a Christian holiday that celebrates the birth of Jesus. Christmas has grown in popularity over time and is now celebrated by many religious people. Christmas is the day when the family gets together to celebrate gift exchange, decorating homes, and creating happy memories. This day conveyed love, kindness, joy, and helpfulness.

The birth of Jesus

The second half of the bible is where the Christmas story starts. The birth of Jesus is told by two books, the Gospels of Matthew and Luke. According to Luke, Mary was told by an angel named Gabriel that she was to get pregnant by the power of the holy spirit. Mary truly accepted this message.

Jesus was born in Bethlehem. Mary put the newborn baby in the manger because to nowhere to stay. Shepherd, who was watching their sheep, heard angels announce the birth. The shepherd sees the baby and spreads the happiness by telling others about the news.

On the other hand, in the Gospel of Matthew's story, there was a wise man who followed the stars in the sky; by following the Bethlehem stars, they found Jesus. Three gifts were given by the wise men: myrrh, frankincense, and gold. These gifts showed respect and conveyed the importance of Jesus as a king and saviour.

Why is Christmas celebrated on December 25

Christmas has a deep religious meaning for Christians. They believe that Jesus is the son of God, who came to earth to save the world from evil. His birth shows love and humility. Another name of Jesus is Emmanuel, which means "God with us".

There's no exact day of Jesus' birth in the Bible. Many years later, the Christian church chose to celebrate December 25 as Christmas. With time, this date became popular, and now we all celebrate the 25th as Christmas Day globally.

Christmas now

Christmas is now celebrated in multiple countries. Christians pray and attend masses, and a lot of people sing carols, give gifts, decorate Christmas trees, and eat special meals. Santa Claus has always been popular, especially among children. Let's celebrate Christmas with love, joy, cakes, and a lot of chocolates.
