The 19th edition of the IPL is set to kick off on 28th March, and this year’s IPL is expected to be one of the key seasons in terms of games. This season will also be important for a few players. A few good Indian players have gone through a rough patch in the white ball, Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Prasidh Krishna, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Yashasvi Jaiswal. Other than KL Rahul, these are the players who have gone through a lean patch in white-ball cricket. With Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan having a good run recently, it is going to be tough for KL Rahul.

What’s at stake for these players?

Selection and the future are at stake for these players. Shubman Gill has gone through a very tough patch in this period, from getting a feather in the crown to becoming a lost hero. Shubman Gill has seen everything in these 8 months. Rishabh Pant has not played a white-ball game since July, 2024. Though he got selected in the ODI team in every series, his place in the team remained uncertain. Like Pant, Ruturaj Gaikwad has also been fighting long for his place.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, one of the finest promising all-format players has lost place in white balls as the opening spot remained congested in all areas. Prasidh Krishna’s performance in the white ball has always remained a question.

For all of these players, this IPL is going to be a moving season. Every ball, every run will count and those who perform well are going to stay in the race. And as the 2027 World Cup is coming players will be eager to perform at every moment.
