The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have officially revealed their new jersey ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League 2026 season, introducing a design concept titled “Lines of Legacy.” The jersey continues KKR’s iconic deep purple and gold colour scheme while incorporating a unique visual narrative that reflects the franchise’s historic journey in the tournament.
A design inspired by KKR’s historic moments
The latest jersey pays tribute to some of the most defining moments in the franchise’s history. According to the team management, the design features subtle lines embedded across the fabric, each symbolising a landmark event that shaped the team’s identity over the years.
Among the inspirations behind the design are memorable feats such as Brendon McCullum’s legendary 158-run knock in the inaugural IPL match in 2008, a performance that set the tone for the league’s explosive brand of cricket. Another historic moment represented is Rinku Singh smashing five consecutive sixes in a dramatic final over, one of the most thrilling finishes in recent IPL history.
These symbolic lines gradually merge together to form the letters “KKR,” making the jersey more than just a team kit, it becomes a wearable tribute to the franchise’s legacy. The concept ensures that supporters wearing the jersey are symbolically carrying a piece of the team’s history with them.
