Young footballer Ravinder Singh dies after cardiac arrest during local match in Punjab

Young footballer Ravinder Singh from Punjab died at 25 after suffering a cardiac arrest during a local match, shocking the football community.

Young Indian footballer, Ravinder Singh tragically lost his life at the age of 25 due to a sudden cardiac arrest while playing a local league match in Punjab. He was signed to Namdhari FC in the Indian Football League. Coming from a small village of Majri in Punjab’s Ludhiana district, he was considered one of the finest players of the area. The young talented player was playing in the local tournament organised in Bachhuri after suddenly collapsing during the game, locals rushed to a private hospital.

After fighting for a few days, unfortunately, he was announced dead by the doctors on Wednesday.

His tragedy has cast a shadow on his hometown. According to Dainik Jagran reports,Ravinder’s brother Bhupinder Singh had done the last rites. Besides being a good footballer, he was also a BA second-year student at Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College in Garhshankar. His family members, friends, and fellow players from the area attended his funeral.

“We are deeply saddened to share that one of our football players, Ravinder Singh, has passed away suddenly at such a young age. His untimely departure is a great loss to the football family. May the Almighty bless his soul with eternal peace and give strength and courage to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.” Namdhari FC wrote in the caption of the video of the player.

Indian Football League wrote in a caption, "A minute's silence will be observed before each game of Matchweek 3 to honour his memory and stand in solidarity with his family, friends and Namdhari FC."

His sudden demise has raised health concerns.
