Setting records in match after match has seemingly become a habit for Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Whether in the country's jersey or in the IPL, this 14-year-old cricketer has repeatedly demonstrated his skills. He recently failed in the Asia Cup final. However, Vaibhav bounced back from that setback. In the first match of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, he created a storm with the bat. Playing for Bihar, Vaibhav hit a century in 36 balls and made headlines once again. After this century, the young cricketer set a new record in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Vaibhav's blazing century
The Vijay Hazare Trophy began on Wednesday. In the first match, Bihar faced Arunachal Pradesh. Arunachal Pradesh won the toss and decided to bowl first. But Vaibhav virtually toyed with the bowlers. Opening the innings, he attacked from the start. He reached his half-century in just 25 balls. After that, Vaibhav was seen playing nothing but fours and sixes. He completed his century in 36 balls. That means he scored the remaining 50 runs in just 11 balls. Despite being an ODI match, Vaibhav played blazing cricket in T20 style.

What record did Vaibhav set?
By scoring a century in 36 balls, Vaibhav once again secured his place in the record books. He set the record for scoring a century in List-A cricket at the youngest age. He created this milestone at just 14 years and 272 days old. Not only that, this is the second-fastest century by an Indian in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and List-A cricket. Vaibhav narrowly missed reaching the top. Last season, Punjab's Anmolpreet Singh had scored a century in 35 balls. Vaibhav couldn't break that record by just one ball.
Eventually, Vaibhav was dismissed after scoring 190 runs in 84 balls. The innings included 16 boundaries and 15 sixes. His strike rate was 226.19.
