India is all set to play the final against New Zealand in Ahmedabad, and it is expected that a high-scoring showdown is going to shape the exciting clash. As both teams are preparing for the most important showdown, India has a few, but important things to fix. In the last match, India scored 253 runs but won by only 7 runs. This indicates that, apart from Bumrah and Hardik, the other bowlers in the Indian team were unable to make a significant impact. Varun Chakravarthy’s performance has remained a key talking point; in the last match, Varun conceded 64 runs in four overs, and in the virtual quarter finals, he has conceded 40 runs.

His bowling stats in this World Cup have only declined. Other than the Netherlands clash, the ICC-ranked number one bowler failed to show his own element, for which he is known. A few experts have suggested that going with Kuldeep Yadav can help.

What went wrong for Varun Chakravarthy?

Due to his mysterious nature, teams had heavily prepared against Varun, which ultimately led to his failure.

He gets success whenever he bowls in the 4-meter length, but in this World Cup, his deliveries landed shorter, which gave the batters time; not only that, he is bowling with extra pace, which is helping the batters, as they are not only getting extra time, but his ball is also coming at the bat with extra pace. He gets the most success when he delivers the ball close to the batter. Varun should rethink and come back stronger in the final.

Will Kuldeep get a place?

The speciality Kuldeep brings to the field is irreplaceable, but Varun has nothing less; he is the number one T20I bowler of the world, and if he can find the good rhythm, his every delivery will be a challenge for them. It is unlikely that India will change in the winning XI, but a lot will depend on how he practices in the nets.
