Battlegrounds Mobile India players may not have to wait much longer for the next major update. Krafton is preparing to roll out the BGMI 4.4 update, which is expected to introduce a fresh themed mode along with several gameplay additions and map changes.

The update is likely to arrive in phases for Android and iOS users, with multiple reports pointing to a May 20 rollout window.

Hero’s Crown mode to headline the update

One of the biggest additions in the upcoming patch is the new “Hero’s Crown” themed mode. Reports suggest the mode will transform parts of the classic battleground into an ancient mythological setting with redesigned structures and special combat zones.

Several locations on the Erangel map are expected to receive visual and structural changes. Areas such as Ruins and Ferry Pier may be redesigned with marble temple-inspired architecture, while some other locations could also see partial overhauls.

Floating island and boss fights expected

Another feature generating attention is the floating island area, reportedly called “Crown’s Abode.” This will reportedly function as a high-risk hot drop location offering premium loot and an extra recall opportunity for players who land there.

The update is also expected to introduce boss fights and combat trials. Players may be able to travel using Sun Chariots and take on powerful enemies for top-tier rewards. Some reports also mention special powers and new abilities tied to the themed mode.

Rollout schedule and download details

Reports indicate that Android users could start receiving the update in phases from early morning on May 20, while iOS users may get the full rollout later in the day. APK downloads are also expected to become available through the official BGMI website after the mobile store rollout is complete.
