Xiaomi has added fresh momentum to India’s smartphone market with the launch of the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G series on Thursday. The company introduced two new models: the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G and the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G, aiming to strengthen its presence in the mid-premium segment. Sales of the devices will begin from February 4, 2026, through Mi stores, Amazon, and authorised retail outlets across the country.

One of the major attractions of this series is its camera system. Both models feature a 200 MasterPixel camera setup using a 200-megapixel HPE image sensor, which is being deployed globally for the first time. The sensor has a size of 1/1.4 inches, an f/1.65 aperture, and supports 4x optical-level in-sensor zoom. Xiaomi claims the camera improves low-light performance and depth rendering, delivering strong results in portrait, travel and urban photography.

Battery, durability and display

Xiaomi has placed significant focus on battery performance in this series. The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G is equipped with a 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery, supporting 100-watt wired fast charging and 22.5-watt reverse charging. The Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G, on the other hand, features a 6,580mAh battery with 45-watt fast charging support. Both smartphones will ship with chargers in the box. According to Xiaomi, the batteries will retain at least 80 per cent capacity even after 1,600 charge cycles, equivalent to around six years of usage.

In terms of durability, the smartphones are built on the Redmi Titan Structure and carry SGS Premium Performance Certification. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and supports drop resistance of up to 2.5 metres. Internally, the phones include a reinforced structure and shock-absorbing layers. They also come with IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings, offering protection against dust, water and high-pressure water exposure.

Performance, connectivity and pricing

For performance, the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset. The series also introduces the Xiaomi IceLoop cooling system for the first time, designed to manage heat during gaming and video streaming. The Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultra processor, which Xiaomi says is optimised for everyday tasks such as browsing, navigation, streaming and productivity.

Xiaomi has also added new connectivity features. With Xiaomi Offline Communication, voice transmission is possible within a one-kilometre range even without a mobile network, which could be useful in remote areas and during emergency situations. Additionally, the Pro+ model includes the Xiaomi Surge T1S Tuner, aimed at improving connectivity in challenging environments such as basements, elevators and crowded locations.

The Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G series will be priced between ₹26,000 and ₹38,000, with variations depending on internal storage configurations.
