Apple has introduced a new Apple Watch band, the Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop, to commemorate Black History Month. The band features the colours of the Pan-African flag which includes red, green and black and is intended to highlight themes of connection, creativity and community.
The company said the new band reflects “the power of connection” and continues Apple’s long-standing Black Unity collection, which is released annually to mark the month.

Design, materials and purpose
According to Apple, the Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop is made using recycled polyester yarn filaments woven around ultrathin silicone threads through precision braiding machinery. The result is a flexible, textured band designed for everyday use and built to withstand sweat and water exposure.
Apple said the band was created by Black creatives and allies within the company, continuing a design approach followed for its earlier Black Unity bands. The firm added that the collection is part of its broader effort to support under-represented communities through creativity-focused initiatives.
As part of this commitment, Apple has provided grants to organisations including the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Urban Arts in New York City, Youth Music in London, the Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney, and Enactus México in Mexico City. These programmes focus on education, artistic development and economic opportunity.
