A manifesto linked to Palantir Technologies has started a big debate around the world. It has made people worried about how technology is used in politics and war. Shared as a summary of the book The Technological Republic by Alex Karp and Nicholas Zamiska, the 22-point document quickly became viral.
Many experts, leaders, and groups have criticised it, saying that it feels more like a political plan than a company message. Some people also think it is dangerous and have called it “technofascist.”
As more people talk about it, questions are being raised about how powerful tech companies have become and how much control they have over world policies, defence, and artificial intelligence.
What exactly does the manifesto say?
According to NDTV reports, the document presents strong views on defence and technology. It states, "The engineering elite of Silicon Valley has an affirmative obligation to participate in the defense of the nation." On AI weapons, it says, "The question is not whether AI weapons will be built; it is who will build them and for what purpose. Our adversaries will not pause to indulge in theatrical debates… They will proceed."

It also says that national service should be “a universal duty” and supports a strong commitment to military action. The manifesto questions past global decisions like the “post war neutering of Germany and Japan” and warns that too much focus on peace could change the balance of power in Asia.
On culture, it states, “Some cultures have produced vital advances; others remain dysfunctional and regressive,” and adds, “We must resist the shallow temptation of a vacant and hollow pluralism. We, in America and more broadly the West, have for the past half century resisted defining national cultures in the name of inclusivity. But inclusion into what?”
Who is Palantir and why it matters?
According to NDTV reports, Palantir Technologies is a big data company started in 2003 by Alex Karp and Peter Thiel, with help from In-Q-Tel. It first worked on intelligence projects after the September 11 attacks and now works with governments, armies, and big companies around the world.

The Technological Republic, in brief.
1. Silicon Valley owes a moral debt to the country that made its rise possible. The engineering elite of Silicon Valley has an affirmative obligation to participate in the defense of the nation.
2. We must rebel…
What are critics saying about it?
The backlash has been strong. As per NDTV reports, Mark Coeckelbergh called it "an example of technofascism", while Yanis Varoufakis warned of "to add to nuclear Armageddon the AI-driven threat to humanity's existence".
Eliot Higgins said, "Palantir sells operational software to defence, intelligence, immigration and police agencies," adding, "These 22 points aren't philosophy floating in space, they're the public ideology of a company whose revenue depends on the politics it's advocating."
Amnesty International accused the company of "a track record of flagrantly disregarding international law and standards, both in the violations of the human rights of migrants in the United States… and its ongoing supply of AI products and services to the Israeli military and intelligence services that are linked to Israel's ongoing genocide in Gaza."

What is Technofascism?
Technofascism is a system where technology is used along with strong government control, military power, and limited personal freedom. It mixes advanced technology with strict authority.
Critics think the manifesto shows this idea because it supports AI wars, puts some cultures above others, and gives power to a small elite group.
They say when a big tech company supports such ideas and works closely with governments, it can create serious problems around right and wrong and affect the whole world.
This issue also shows how technology and politics are now strongly connected. It makes people worry about how AI and data might affect future wars and government decisions.
As the discussion continues, the debate around technofascism and the power of big tech is expected to grow stronger. This may push governments and societies to rethink the role of technology companies in global decision-making.
