Noida is getting ready for a big travel upgrade. The Uttar Pradesh government is planning to build a huge airport-style bus terminal in Sector 90, Noida, which could completely change the bus travel experience in the city, per a report by NDTV.

This will not be like a normal bus stand, as the terminal is expected to have modern lounges, shopping areas, movie theatres, air-conditioned waiting halls, food courts, restaurants, and e VIP rooms for passengers.

What facilities will the new terminal offer

As per NDTV reports, the new bus terminal is being planned to make bus travel more comfortable and modern for passengers. If everything goes as planned, the terminal could start operating within the next two years after construction begins. The main attraction of the project will be its airport-like travel experience with better facilities for passengers.

Travellers will get spacious air-conditioned waiting areas, VIP lounges, and resting rooms for extra comfort. The terminal will also have a shopping complex, food courts, restaurants, a movie theatre, and spaces for shops and services. Around 55 per cent of the area will be used for passenger facilities, while the remaining 45 per cent will be for commercial spaces, making it both a transport hub and a lifestyle destination, per NDTV.

How will it improve passenger convenience

One of the biggest upgrades of the new terminal is that it will operate 24 hours a day. This is expected to make travelling easier for passengers using late-night and early-morning bus services, as regular bus stations often do not have proper facilities during those hours.

The project aims to provide a smooth and comfortable travel experience while reducing the overcrowding and inconvenience that passengers usually face at traditional interstate bus terminals.

Which new routes and services are planned

As per NDTV reports, the new terminal is expected to provide direct bus services to major states like Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir. This could help passengers avoid travelling to Delhi first before starting interstate journeys.

Special air-conditioned buses are also likely to connect passengers directly to the upcoming Noida International Airport, giving travellers a cheaper and more convenient transport option.

To improve transport connectivity across the city, the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation and Noida Authority will jointly run 50 new electric buses. UPSRTC will handle the operations, while the Noida Authority may cover operational expenses if needed.
