Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's partnership with Netflix is once again drawing attention, with fresh reports suggesting possible tensions behind the scenes. The couple signed a multi-million dollar deal with the streaming platform in 2020, aiming to produce a range of original content through their banner, Archewell Productions.
However, recent claims indicate that the collaboration may not be progressing as smoothly as initially expected.

Allegations of internal strain
According to a report by RadarOnline, Meghan Markle is allegedly placing responsibility for the partnership's struggles on others, including Prince Harry. One source claimed there is a "strong feeling" she is "blaming everyone but herself" for the reported issues affecting their work with Netflix.
Another insider suggested that these frustrations may have extended to her husband. "The perception is that rather than reassessing strategy, responsibility is being pushed outward," the source said, adding that Prince Harry has also been part of that dynamic. The same source alleged that Markle felt he "wasn't as open to the showbiz world" or aligned with her creative ambitions.
Mixed performance of recent projects
Archewell Productions initially drew strong viewership with the 2022 docuseries 'Harry & Meghan'. The series generated widespread attention and marked a high-profile debut for the couple's content slate. However, subsequent projects have reportedly delivered mixed results, prompting questions about consistency and long-term direction.
Some industry insiders believe this uneven performance may have contributed to concerns within Netflix about future output and audience engagement.
Broader challenges beyond personal dynamics
A report by Variety points to additional factors that may be shaping the partnership. Industry figures have reportedly flagged issues such as repetitive storytelling and communication gaps. There have also been claims that certain external ventures, including the couple’s 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey and Prince Harry’s memoir Spare, caught Netflix off guard.

Netflix's response
Despite the speculation, Netflix has publicly reiterated its support for the couple. The company has described its relationship with Archewell as "collaborative" and denied claims suggesting a loss of confidence.
Meanwhile, a lawyer representing Meghan Markle and Prince Harry has dismissed several of the critical reports as "blatantly false", pushing back against the narrative of internal discord.
