Kohli, Tendulkar lead tributes as India mourns Asha Bhosle’s passing

The passing of Asha Bhosle at the age of 92 has drawn emotional tributes from across the country, with cricket icons Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli leading the outpouring of grief. The legendary singer breathed her last in Mumbai after being hospitalised earlier in the day, a development confirmed by her son Anand Bhosle.

Taking to X, Sachin Tendulkar shared a deeply personal message, calling the loss a “deeply sad day for India and music lovers across the world.” He described Asha Bhosle as family and said her music would remain timeless.

“One moment the heart falls silent, and the next, it drifts through the countless melodies she gifted all of us,” he wrote, adding that her songs would continue to live on forever. Virat Kohli also paid tribute through Instagram, remembering the singer’s lasting impact. “Your voice touched millions and will live on forever in our hearts. Om Shanti,” he wrote.
