BPSSC, or the Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission, has finally released the results of the Bihar SI preliminary examination today. The exam was conducted from January 18 to January 21, 2026, to fill 1,799 vacancies.
Nearly 35,980 candidates, which is 20 times the total number of vacancies, have qualified to move ahead to the BPSSC Bihar SI mains examination. After the mains, there will be a final interview round, following which candidates will be selected for the posts.

Where and how to check the results
Candidates can check the results of the Bihar SI, or Daroga, recruitment exam conducted by BPSSC on its official website: bpssc.bihar.gov.in. The results are available through a link titled, ‘Results of the preliminary written examination for the post of Sub-Inspector in the Home (Police) Department, Government of Bihar.’
On clicking this link, a PDF will open containing the list of selected candidates. The list has been published with the names and roll numbers of qualified candidates, so applicants can search for their roll numbers in the PDF to confirm whether they have been selected.
About the exam and the next steps
This year, a total of 10,36,702 candidates registered for the examination, out of which 7,26,231 appeared. The total number of vacancies is 1,799, divided as follows: 850 for UR, 180 for EWS, 222 for OBC, 42 for OBC Female, 273 for EBC, 210 for SC, 15 for ST, and 7 for Transgender candidates.
Those who have cleared the prelims will now have to qualify through several further stages, including the mains examination, physical efficiency test, physical standard test, interview, and document verification, before final selection.
