The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Friday announced a fresh outreach campaign for candidates appearing in the NEET UG 2026 re-examination, scheduled for June 21. The agency said it is sending reminders through SMS, email and WhatsApp, urging students to download their admit cards and stay alert to fraudulent messages.

In an advisory posted on X, the NTA said official SMS notifications will be sent from the sender ID “NICPEP”, while official emails will come from “no-reply.neet.nta@nic.in”.

WhatsApp updates to reach candidates

The agency said candidates will also receive exam-related information and centre details through WhatsApp. Students have been advised to verify that messages display the name ‘National Testing Agency’ along with the blue verification tick before trusting them.

According to the NTA, its WhatsApp channel is only meant for broadcasting information. It will not ask students to respond to messages, share personal information, provide OTPs or make any payments.

The agency cautioned candidates to treat any such request as suspicious and potentially fraudulent.

Admit cards available only through official website

The NTA clarified that candidates who have already downloaded their admit cards for the June 21 re-examination do not need to download them again. The reminders are mainly intended for students who have not yet accessed their hall tickets.

The agency also reminded candidates that admit cards issued for the May 3 examination are no longer valid, as several students have been assigned new examination centres for the re-test.

Candidates have been instructed to download their admit cards only from the official website, neet.nta.nic.in, by typing the address directly into their browser.

Warning against fake messages

The testing agency stressed that it will never request payments, send question papers or answer keys, or distribute admit cards through external links.

“If you receive any such message, do not click and report it," the advisory said.

The NEET-UG examination was originally conducted on May 3 but was cancelled on May 12 following allegations of a question paper leak. The matter is currently being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), while the re-examination is scheduled to be held on June 21.
