Jamia Millia Islamia opens 2026-27 admissions, launches 30 new programmes

Jamia Millia Islamia has opened admissions for the 2026-27 academic session, introducing 30 new programmes. The university has also expanded its entrance exam network to 11 centres nationwide to improve accessibility for students.

Jamia Millia Islamia Admissions 2026-27: To make the admission process more accessible, JMI has expanded its network of entrance examination centres across the country. Three new centres — Jaipur, Dehradun, and Kishanganj — have been introduced, increasing the total number of test centres to 11.

Prospectus released for 2026-27

On Friday, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) published the prospectus for the 2026-27 academic session along with important admission guidelines for undergraduate, postgraduate, advanced diploma, PG diploma, certificate, and diploma programmes.

The prospectus includes comprehensive details about eligibility requirements, application links, entrance tests, admit cards, syllabi, examination centres, course fee structures, and the tentative schedule for result announcements.

Key changes you should know

The admission application process has now opened. This year, the university has launched 30 new programmes while maintaining the existing fee structure for all courses. Vice-Chancellor Professor Mazhar Asif said, "This year, we have introduced 30 new programmes, carefully designed in alignment with NEP 2020 guidelines, and also started admissions under FYUP. JMI is especially pleased to have not increased fees for any of its courses. We have expanded test centres to 11 to ensure that students from all regions of India can access quality education at JMI."

Moreover, admissions under the Multiple Entry Mode for the Four-Year Undergraduate Programmes (FYUP) will start from this academic session. In accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the Multiple Entry Mode for FYUP is designed to provide students with greater academic flexibility.

Controller of Examinations (CoE) Professor Ahteshamul Haque stated that JMI has significantly broadened its academic portfolio by introducing 30 new programmes for the upcoming session. The newly added programmes include:

Undergraduate: BA (Hons) Japanese Studies (Self-Financed), BA (Hons) German Studies (Self-Financed), BA (Hons) Uzbek Language, Literature and Culture, BA (Hons) Human Resource Management (Self-Financed)

Advanced Diploma: Child Guidance and Counselling (Self-Financed, RCI Approved)

Postgraduate (as per NEP 2020): MSc (Biosciences), MSc (Biotechnology), MSc (Botany), MSc (Biophysics), MA (Social Work), MA (Human Resource Management), MA (Sociology)

ITEP Programmes: BSc BEd (Secondary), BA BEd (Secondary)

Other Postgraduate and Professional Programmes

MSc (Renewable Energy, Self-Financed), BTech (Robotics & Artificial Intelligence, Self-Financed), BTech Civil Engineering (Construction Technology, Self-Financed), BE Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering Evening Programmes (Self-Financed), Diploma in Leather Goods and Footwear Technology (Self-Financed), LLM (Criminal Law, Corporate Law, Personal Law — Regular/Regular Self-Financed), PG Diploma in Computational Design and AI in Architecture (Self-Financed), Master of Hotel Management (Self-Financed), BVoc (Molecular Diagnostics, Self-Financed), Certificates in Calligraphy Painting and Painting (Self-Financed), MTech (Material Science and Technology)

New exam centres added

To enhance accessibility, JMI has widened its network of entrance examination centres across the country. Three additional centres - Jaipur, Dehradun, and Kishanganj have been introduced, increasing the total number to 11. The existing centres are located in Delhi, Lucknow, Guwahati, Patna, Kolkata, Srinagar, Calicut, and Bhopal.
