Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has dismissed reports linking him to the controversial 'Epstein files', calling the claims baseless and misleading. His name began circulating online after unverified documents referred to a “Bollywood guy” and a “famous Bollywood director” allegedly associated with an event connected to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in Beijing in 2017.
The Epstein files, which include documents, images and videos related to Epstein’s criminal activities, have triggered global attention and drawn in several high-profile names. Recently, tech billionaire Bill Gates also addressed mentions of his association with Epstein, stating that he regretted the interaction.

‘Never been to Beijing in my life’
As per a report of The Hindustan Times, Kashyap strongly denied any connection to Epstein or the alleged event. “I’ve no clue about this. I get invitations as a speaker, about 15 a month. I rarely respond. Also, I have never been to Beijing in my life!” he said.

He further questioned the credibility of the documents doing the rounds. “It’s some random email, that’s self explanatory . The click baits in my name are more popular than my films.” Kashyap added.
The filmmaker, known for movies such as Gangs of Wasseypur and his frequent presence at international film festivals, said the speculation has no factual basis. His clarification has effectively put an end to the rumours linking him to the Epstein Files case.
The latest batch of Epstein-related documents released by the US Justice Department has listed several high-profile figures, including US President Donald Trump, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, British entrepreneur Richard Branson, and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The files, made public last week, detail Jeffrey Epstein’s communications with a range of influential individuals. Epstein, a convicted sex offender, died by suicide in 2019.
