Anushka Sharma celebrates RCB Women’s win

On Friday, Anushka took to Instagram to post a picture of the RCB Women’s team lifting the trophy for the second time. Reacting to the moment, she wrote, “RCB Women do it again. History, repeated.” Her post quickly drew attention, given her long association with the franchise through her husband, Virat Kohli, a former captain of the RCB men’s team.

The WPL 2026 final saw a dominant batting display from RCB. Skipper Smriti Mandhana and Georgia Voll put together a match-winning partnership that shifted the momentum firmly in RCB’s favour. Smriti smashed 87 runs off just 41 balls, while Georgia scored a quickfire 79 off 54 deliveries. Chasing a challenging target of 203, RCB reached 204/4 in 19.4 overs, with Radha Yadav sealing the win by hitting two consecutive fours.

Anushka Sharma married Virat Kohli in 2017 in a grand ceremony in Italy. After her 2018 film Zero alongside Shah Rukh Khan, she stepped away from acting. The couple welcomed their daughter Vamika in 2021 and their son Akaay in 2024, and they are currently living in London.

Anushka was last expected to be seen in Chakdah Xpress, a biopic on Indian women’s fast bowler Jhulan Goswami, which was meant to mark her acting comeback. However, the film was eventually shelved.
