Singer Talwiinder, who is usually seen performing while wearing a mask, has opened up on the emotional effects of the going-viral wedding video where he was seen unmasked during a private wedding ceremony. The video, which was filmed from the wedding of Nupur Sanon and Stebin Ben, went around on social media, taking away his anonymity.
For some years now, Talwiinder had created his image around his masked persona, which always kept the spotlight focused on the music and never on his looks. However, the balance changed when the video emerged online earlier in the week.

‘It felt like my face was snatched away’
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Talwiinder said the moment he saw the clip was deeply unsettling. He recalled waking up to hundreds of messages, with friends and acquaintances forwarding the same video repeatedly.
“I woke up to the video and saw my face everywhere. I wasn’t in the right state of mind. It felt like my face was snatched away from me. My world turned upside down,” he said.
The singer also expressed anger over how the footage was used online. According to him, several creators reused the clip purely to drive views and engagement. He questioned the motives behind leaking a private moment, suggesting it may have been sold for money. “People are making content on it just for views. That shows their true colours,” he added.
Talwiinder explained that the mask has always been more than a visual choice. It protects him from public scrutiny and the constant pressure to maintain a certain look. “My music is for the ears, not the eyes,” he said, adding that anonymity allowed him to move freely in public and stay grounded.

Spotlight beyond the viral clip
Aside from the unmased video, Talwiinder is also in the news due to his appearances with Indian actress Disha Patani, which have fuelled rumors about the two possibly in a relationship. They were spotted together at Lollapalooza 2026, but the singer assured their fans that they are still getting to know each other and cannot be rushed to declare anything due to public pressure.
For now, however, Talwiinder reports that he is focusing on his music, as he navigates the sudden loss of privacy that came with the viral moment.
