‘She never misses’: L’Oréal reacts to Aishwarya Rai’s absence from Cannes promotions

L'Oréal Paris on Tuesday shared a post on its official Instagram account featuring posters of its ambassadors at Cannes’ Le Martinez Hotel. However, fans of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were upset after noticing that she was missing from the promotional posters.

For many years, Aishwarya has been closely linked with the Cannes Film Festival as a L’Oréal ambassador. Fans criticised the brand for featuring Alia Bhatt while leaving out Aishwarya, who many believe helped make the brand popular in Asia.

After the online reactions, the brand responded to fans questioning Aishwarya’s absence.

Among the many comments, one fan tagged the brand and wrote, “Where is @aishwaryaraibachchan_arb ? We only see Aishwarya Rai Bachchan during Cannes. We want to see her more. Her aura is unmatched. Please promote and celebrate her more.”

The official account of L’Oréal Paris responded, “Year after year, Cannes after Cannes, she never misses.” However, the response triggered even more reactions from fans online.

After the brand’s reply, fans continued expressing disappointment over the missing posters. One user asked, “Where is her poster then,” while another wrote, “You are just back of new faces but forgetting the way Aishwarya brought you fame in Asia @lorealparis you need to answer or be ready to get your worth down.”



Aishwarya’s history with Cannes

Aishwarya first attended the Cannes Film Festival in 2002 with Shah Rukh Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali for the premiere of their film Devdas. In 2003, she appeared at Cannes for the first time as a L'Oréal Paris ambassador. Since then, she has walked the Cannes red carpet almost every year.
