The latest screen adaptation of Wuthering Heights, featuring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi, has made its way to OTT platforms following a successful theatrical run earlier this year.
Inspired by the Gothic fiction novel written by Emily Brontë in 1847, the film has earned a worldwide gross of $239.4 million, as reported by Sacnilk.

Where to watch and streaming details
Available for viewing on HBO, the film can be streamed or purchased through the streaming services of Apple TV and Amazon Prime. Rental options typically allow viewers to access the film for 30 days, with a 48-hour viewing window once playback begins.
Running for an estimated duration of two hours and eight minutes, the film gives a modern and stylised interpretation of the story.
A darker, modern retelling of a literary classic
With Emerald Fennell directing the movie adaptation, having a unique approach towards storytelling through her previous works like Promising Young Woman and Saltburn, the movie retells the story using a modern approach.
The movie is about the lives of Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff, two people who have been raised together with many complications. The connection between these two characters evolves into an intimate yet sometimes tumultuous relationship marked by class differences and individual ambitions.

Catherine opts for stability rather than passion when she marries Edgar Linton, and Heathcliff goes away. But years later, he comes back to her changed, wealthy, and fueled by his lingering feelings towards Catherine.
Casting choices spark conversation
In this adaptation, Robbie plays Catherine, whereas Elordi takes up the role of Heathcliff. The two actors have received considerable criticism from fans who are uncertain about their appropriateness in terms of age and their portrayal of Heathcliff.
Nevertheless, the combination of the two actors has received significant publicity, contributing to the film’s visibility both during its theatrical run and now on streaming platforms.
