The press briefing on the anniversary of Operation Sindoor is likely to shed light on the objectives, the success, and its message behind the mission, besides the growing importance of women in the defence forces of the country.
Operation Sindoor’s significance
Operation Sindoor was conducted on May 7, 2025, when India carried out a calibrated cross-border strike against the terror camps located on the other side of the line of control in Pakistan.
This particular operation was carried out as a retaliatory measure against the terror attacks that occurred in Pahalgam, where 26 civilians lost their lives.
The post-operation press briefing became popular due to the fact that it was led by women officers in the three forces.

This particular briefing is said to be a milestone in its own right since it portrayed the increasing role of women as leaders in India’s armed forces.
“Nari Shakti” is believed to be reflected through this brief as women took part in strategic and operational communication during a significant military operation.
