One of the most admired voices in Indian music is the great playback singer Asha Bhosle, who has had an exceptional career that has lasted over 80 years. Her life biography has frequently sparked curiosity concerning a future biopic, as she has recorded countless songs in multiple languages. It is important to point out that the artist herself once revealed the women she believed would best portray her story on screen.

Singer Asha Bhosle's preference

Asha Bhosle appreciated Priyanka Chopra during a conversation with Bombay Times, stating that she would be a perfect choice for the role. She also commended Kangana Ranaut for her acting skills, saying that Kangana could execute the part well.

Where she said, "I think Priyanka Chopra Jonas would be perfect to play me on screen. Kangana Ranaut is also a very good actor. I feel she can be a great choice, too." Later she added, “Having said this, I don't think a film based on my life will ever be made.”

Despite these recommendations, Bhosle added a lighthearted tone to the conversation by openly stating that she didn't think a movie based on her life would ever have been made.

Through film, Asha Bhosle and Kangana Ranaut have a working relationship. Hungama Ho Gaya, which was originally sung by Asha Bhosle in Anhonee, was remade in Queen (2014).

Bhosle also contributed her singing voice to the song Kaafi Nahi Chaand from Revolver Rani, which added to the two musicians' ongoing musical collaboration.

In the last days

The renowned singer died in Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital on April 12 at the age of 92. Her treating physician, Dr. Prateet Samdani, said, "It is sad news that Asha Bhosle has passed away today. She was suffering from multiple medical complication and died due to multi-organ failure..."

The mark Asha Bhosle has had on Indian music is incomparable. Two National Film Awards were given to her; the Padma Vibhushan in 2008 and the renowned Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2000. Songs like Dum Maro Dum, Piya Tu Ab Toh Aaja, Chura Liya Hai Tumne, Yeh Mera Dil, and Dil Cheez Kya Hai are just some of her timeless tunes that captivate the listeners and ensure that her legacy lives forever
