Two bomb threat emails were sent to the Delhi Legislative Assembly on Monday, warning of an explosion involving “15 cyanide gas-filled RDX bombs,” officials said, according to a report by Hindustan Times.
The emails were received on the official ID of the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat and on the email account of Speaker Vijender Gupta. Both messages carried identical content and were written in Hindi.

Threat references Tamil Nadu politics
The email claimed the assembly would be targeted within hours and included references to political developments in Tamil Nadu ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.
It also contained inflammatory statements related to political affiliations, including mentions of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and references to actor-politician S V Shekhar.
Authorities have not confirmed the credibility of the threat and are treating the matter as a security concern.
Security tightened after recent breach
The threat comes days after a security breach at the assembly complex, where a vehicle entered through a restricted gate.
According to officials, a man drove through Gate 2which is typically used for VIP access, before exiting his vehicle, placing a bouquet on a parked car linked to the Speaker, and leaving the premises. The accused was later identified and detained.
Police sources said the individual is currently under custody and undergoing medical evaluation at the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences.

Investigation underway
Security agencies have initiated an investigation into the source of the emails. Surveillance and cyber teams are working to trace the origin, while precautionary checks have been carried out within the assembly premises.
Officials have not reported any explosives being found so far.
