A sad road accident in Andhra Pradesh killed a senior High Court lawyer after a concrete truck fell on his BMW near a toll plaza. The accident happened at Keesara Toll Plaza on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada highway, and the car was completely crushed.

As per News 18 reports, police said the man was B. Srinivas Rao, a well-known lawyer. The accident happened around 4:15–4:20 PM on Saturday when he was returning to Hyderabad after taking part in Bar Council elections.

Videos from the spot show how serious the crash was, with the truck on top of the car. Police and rescue teams quickly reached the place to remove the wreckage and recover the victim.

How the accident happened

As per NDTV quoted SV Raja Sekhara Babu, Commissioner of Police, Vijayawada, “A BMW car was heading to Hyderabad. A concrete mixer tanker lost control near the Keesara Toll Plaza, causing it to fall onto the BMW. Advocate Rao had participated in the Bar Council elections earlier that day in Amaravati and was heading back. Tragically, Rao passed away in the accident.”

Early reports say the concrete tanker lost control, maybe because the brakes failed while turning near the toll plaza. At that time, the BMW was passing the toll gate, which led to the crash.

Big rescue work started

As per News 18 reports, police and toll staff quickly reached the spot and started rescue work. The tanker was very heavy, so special machines were needed to lift it.

Big machines like cranes and earthmovers were used to remove the truck. The body was later taken out with JCB machines and sent for post-mortem.

Investigation has started

Officials have started a detailed investigation to find out what caused the accident. They are checking CCTV footage to see if the tanker was overloaded or if there was any mistake.

The accident also slowed down traffic on the busy highway, as vehicles moved slowly while authorities cleared the road and made things normal again.

The death of B. Srinivas Rao has shocked many people and raised concerns about road safety and heavy vehicles. Such accidents show the dangers of overloaded or poorly maintained trucks on highways.

As the investigation continues, authorities may take stricter steps to stop such accidents. The sad visuals remind us how quickly lives can be lost on the road.
