Delhi CM Rekha Gupta has directed a comprehensive audit of state-run corporations operating liquor stores in the capital, citing concerns over possible financial irregularities. The move targets a detailed review of records spanning the past five years.

Four major entities under scrutiny

According to The Hindustan Times, the audit will cover four key government bodies: Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation, Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation, Delhi Consumer’s Cooperative Wholesale Store, and Delhi State Civil Supplies Corporation. Together, these entities operate more than 700 liquor outlets across Delhi.

Sales, stock, cash records to be verified

According to an official statement, the corporations have been asked to carry out a detailed reconciliation of sales, purchases, stock and cash accounts. They will work in coordination with the Delhi Excise Department to ensure complete verification and validation of records.
