Nifty, Sensex set for firm start on global cues
Dalal Street is likely to begin Monday’s session on a stronger note, buoyed by upbeat global cues following a significant US Supreme Court verdict on trade tariffs. Early trends in the derivatives segment indicate a steady start for domestic benchmarks. Gift Nifty futures were trading at 25,744.5 as of 7:51 am, suggesting that the Nifty 50 could open above Friday’s closing level of 25,571.25. The Sensex, too, had wrapped up the previous week with modest gains. The positive undertone follows the US Supreme Court’s decision to strike down wide-ranging tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump under emergency powers, a move that had earlier unsettled global markets.
