Just when people in Delhi were getting used to the rising temperature, the weather has changed again. As March is coming to a close, the India Meteorological Department has forecast another bout of rain and thunderstorms in northwest India, including Delhi, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. The yellow alert has been hoisted, indicating moderate weather activities over the next few days.

On Saturday, Delhi is expected to have a partly cloudy sky with plenty of sunshine throughout the day. The temperature will also remain comfortable with a minimum of 18 C and a maximum of 32 C.

Rain and thunderstorms expected from Sunday

The weather conditions, however, are expected to change from Sunday, with increased cloud cover and the chances of rainfall, which is expected to be accompanied by thunder and lightning. Gusty winds may also be experienced in some areas. While the rainfall is not expected to bring temperatures down sharply, it is expected to bring some relief from the early onset of heat.

There may be some light rain activity on Monday, i.e., March 30. After this, the weather conditions are expected to become stable, with clear weather expected between March 31 and April 2. During this time, the maximum temperatures may range around 33 C, while the minimum temperatures may range between 18 and 20 C.

Western disturbances behind weather fluctuations

According to officials at the IMD, the current changes in the weather in Delhi can be attributed to a series of western disturbances that have been affecting northwest India since the middle of March. The western disturbances have been approaching the region at lower altitudes, which is why the weather is not following the regular pattern. As a result, some areas in the city may experience light rain, strong winds, and dust storms during the day.

It is, however, clear that the overall temperature level will not be greatly affected by these changes.

There have been some improvements in the air quality in Delhi. The Air Quality Index was recorded at 148 at 9 am, which falls under the moderate category. The wind conditions have improved, which is why the pollution levels have been under control. The wind conditions will remain the same over the next few days.
