Nida Khan, the key accused in the alleged conversion and harassment case linked to Tata Consultancy Services' (TCS) Nashik unit, was arrested in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on Thursday. The arrest came days after a Nashik court rejected her anticipatory bail plea, per an NDTV report.
According to Nashik Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik, Khan was arrested with assistance from the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar police and the city crime branch, reported PTI.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by Nashik police is currently probing nine cases related to molestation and harassment at the IT company's Nashik office.

Anticipatory bail plea rejected
Per NDTV, police said Khan is an accused in Deolali Camp Police Station crime register number 156/26. On April 18, she had approached a Nashik court seeking anticipatory bail and interim protection from arrest, citing her pregnancy.
However, the court rejected her anticipatory bail application on May 2.
Allegations made against Khan
According to the FIR, Khan allegedly targeted employees through a WhatsApp group and pressured them to pray and consume non-vegetarian food. She is also accused of advising women employees to dress and behave according to Islamic traditions.

Investigators said complainants identified Khan as an HR-linked employee who allegedly ignored complaints and, in some cases, asked women employees to withdraw them.
TCS clarifies her role in company
Last month, Tata Consultancy Services issued a clarification regarding Khan's role in the organisation.
"Ms. Nida Khan who is being repeatedly mentioned in the press as HR manager of TCS, is neither a HR manager nor responsible for recruitment," TCS said in statement by CEO and MD K. Krithivasan.

The company further clarified that Khan worked as a process associate and did not hold any leadership position within the firm.
Eight arrested so far
The SIT has so far arrested eight people, including a female operations manager, after registering nine FIRs in connection with the allegations.

The cases include charges related to exploitation, attempted forced conversion, hurting religious sentiments, molestation and mental harassment of female employees at the Nashik unit.

File image/ANI Apart from provisions under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for sexual harassment and defamation, Khan has also been booked under relevant sections of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The police reportedly said the complainant belongs to a Scheduled Caste community and alleged religious coercion despite Khan being aware of her background.
