India has launched the Swasth Bharat Portal, a new digital healthcare platform created to bring different national health programmes under one system. The platform aims to improve coordination, reduce repeated data entry and make healthcare services more efficient across the country.
Over the years, several digital platforms were developed for healthcare reporting and service delivery under different government schemes. However, many of these systems worked separately, forcing healthcare workers to enter the same information multiple times. The Swasth Bharat Portal has been introduced to solve this problem through a single integrated platform.

What is the Swasth Bharat Portal
The Swasth Bharat Portal is a digital platform that connects different health programme systems through API-based integration. Instead of using separate apps for different government schemes, healthcare workers can now access services and reporting tools through one single platform.
How will the portal help healthcare workers
As per News18 reports, one of the main aims of the Swasth Bharat Portal is to reduce repeated data entry for frontline healthcare workers like ASHAs, ANMs, Community Health Officers (CHOs) and Medical Officers. The system allows information to be entered once and shared across different health programmes. According to government estimates, duplicate data-entry work could reduce by around 20-40 per cent.
How does the platform improve decision-making
As per News18 reports, the portal brings different healthcare datasets together into one digital system and includes data visualisation tools for monitoring and analysis. Officials said the platform could help with faster reporting, better planning and improved coordination at district, state and national levels.
How is the portal linked to ABDM and ABHA
The Swasth Bharat Portal follows the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) guidelines and supports integration with the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA). This allows secure sharing of patient health records. The platform is also expected to connect with national registries like the Healthcare Professionals Registry (HPR) and Health Facility Registry (HFR).

Will the platform reduce costs
As per News18 reports, officials said the integrated platform could help reduce duplication in infrastructure, software management and human resources. According to government estimates, infrastructure duplication may reduce by 20-30 per cent, while HR duplication could decline by 20-40 per cent through the unified system.
The Swasth Bharat Portal is designed to connect multiple healthcare systems under one digital platform. The portal focuses on interoperability, streamlined reporting and coordination between different health programmes across the country.
The platform integrates various healthcare datasets and digital systems through a unified framework aimed at improving access to connected health information in India.
