Singer-rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh has reportedly told the Delhi High Court that he did not perform his controversial track Volume 1 during a concert held in March 2025.
The statement came during a hearing on a petition filed by Hindu Shakti Dal, which has sought the removal of the song from online platforms over allegations that its lyrics are vulgar and derogatory towards women, per a News18 report.

Honey Singh denies concert performance
Appearing on behalf of the singer, senior advocate Rajshekhar Rao informed the court that the alleged performance never took place.
"No such event happened. I did not sing," Singh said through his counsel, denying claims that he performed the song during a concert at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium on March 1, 2025, per News18.
The court has now directed Honey Singh to file an affidavit formally placing his position on record.
Court’s earlier observations on song
The matter relates to an earlier order passed on April 2 by Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav.
At the time, the court directed that the song be removed from online platforms, observing that "no civilised society can allow creation of such a song".
The court had also described the lyrics as “grossly vulgar, patently obscene, deeply derogatory towards women and wholly bereft of any redeeming artistic, literary or social value".
Centre asked to report compliance
During the latest hearing, the court also instructed the Centre to submit details regarding compliance with the earlier takedown order.
The case has now been listed for further hearing on May 19.
The petition continues to demand the removal of all audio and video versions of Volume 1 from digital platforms, while the affidavit to be filed by Honey Singh is expected to clarify his stand on the allegations linked to the concert performance.
