Prime Minister Narendra Modi changed the display picture on his X account on Thursday as Operation Sindoor completed one year.
The new image features a black background with the words "Operation Sindoor" along with the Indian national flag placed above the text. Several senior leaders and military officials also updated their profile pictures on the occasion, including External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and the chiefs of the Army, Navy and Air Force.

PM Modi praises armed forces
Marking the anniversary, PM Modi shared a message on X praising the armed forces for carrying out the operation.
"They gave a fitting response to those who dared to attack innocent Indians at Pahalgam. The entire nation salutes our forces for their valour. Operation Sindoor reflected India’s firm response against terrorism and an unwavering commitment to safeguarding national security," he wrote.
The military operation was launched on May 7, 2025, days after the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 civilians lost their lives.

Air Force revisits operation
The Indian Air Force also shared a video revisiting the operation and India's strikes on terror infrastructure and military targets across the border.
"Operation Sindoor, Justice served. Precise in action, eternal in memory—Operation Sindoor continues. India forgets nothing-India forgives nothing," the IAF posted on X.
According to officials, the operation targeted terror camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Targets across the border
The strikes reportedly focused on nine terror camps, including Muzaffarabad's Sawai Nala Camp and Syedna Belal Camp, along with Gulpur Camp, Abbas Camp, Barnala Camp, Sarjal Camp, Mehmoona Joya Camp, Markaz Taiba and Markaz Subhan in Bahawalpur.

Government sources had earlier stated that more than 100 terrorists were killed during the operation.
Operation Sindoor was announced shortly after midnight on May 7, 2025, and has since been described as one of India's major cross-border counter-terror operations in recent years.
