The Cannes Film Festival 2026 is set to feature a strong Indian presence once again, with actors Aishwarya Rai, Alia Bhatt and Aditi Rao Hydari preparing to walk the iconic red carpet as global ambassadors for beauty brand L’Oréal Paris. The prestigious film festival will take place from May 12 to May 23 in France.
Indian stars to represent L’Oréal Paris
According to the report of Hindustan Times, all three actors will represent India at the global event as ambassadors of L’Oréal Paris, which is celebrating its 29th year at the Cannes Film Festival. The actresses are expected to attend multiple red carpet appearances and promotional events during the festival.

Aishwarya Rai has remained one of the most recognised Indian faces at Cannes over the years. She first attended the festival more than two decades ago and also became the first Indian actress to serve as a jury member at Cannes in 2003.
Alia Bhatt to attend Cannes for second time
Actor Alia Bhatt will return to Cannes for the second consecutive year after making her debut at the festival in 2025. Last year, she attended the event as a global ambassador for L’Oréal Paris and received significant attention for her red carpet appearance.
As per the reports of Hindustan Times, speaking about her return this year, Alia said, “It feels incredibly special to return to Cannes for the second time. Last year was such an unforgettable experience, and I am truly excited to be back for what feels like an even bigger celebration this year.”
She further added, “There is a beautiful energy here, one of sisterhood and the celebration of female voices, and it is a privilege to be part of this journey with a brand that so strongly champions women’s worth and empowerment.”
Aditi Rao Hydari calls Cannes meaningful
Actor Aditi Rao Hydari will also return to the film festival as part of the L’Oréal Paris team. The actress has attended Cannes earlier and has often drawn attention for her fashion appearances on the international stage.
Talking about the event, Aditi told Hindustan Times, “For me, true beauty lies in embracing who you are unapologetically and owning your individuality with confidence.”
She added, “Cannes is such an iconic global platform, and being part of this journey with a brand that has consistently championed women’s empowerment makes it incredibly meaningful.”
Global celebrities to attend festival
Reports stated that the L’Oréal Paris lineup this year will also include international names such as Gillian Anderson, Jane Fonda, Eva Longoria and Simone Ashley.
