The match is playing under a bit of rain forecast today but more crucially, it does not affect the pitch. The pitch stayed more on the dryer side and as per experts the role of spinners and cutter bowlers can help the purple and gold side.
What happened to Sunil and Varun?
Ajinkya Rahane announced the big shock in the toss, saying, “ Two changes, forced changes. Varun Chakaravarthy unfortunately got injured taking a catch in the last game and Sunil Narine is sick.”

Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy are far from peripheral figures in KKR’s setup, they are foundational to the side’s tactical identity. Narine brings a rare blend of experience, control, and matchup versatility, allowing the team to deploy him across phases to both contain and disrupt. Varun, on the other hand, operates as a primary strike weapon in the middle overs, capable of tightening the scoring rate while consistently providing crucial breakthroughs when momentum begins to shift away from KKR.
Powell and Saini come in, replacing stalwarts
In place of the stalwart spinners, Rovman Powell and Navdeep Saini came in. Saini last played in the IPL in 2023 against the Punjab Kings after almost three years Saini was making his debut for KKR. He was not in the team after the auction. After Harshit Rana got injured, Saini came into the team.
