Lucknow Super Giants have received a major boost ahead of their IPL 2026 fixture against Punjab Kings, with Rishabh Pant declared fit after a recent injury scare. The wicketkeeper-batter had raised concerns after being struck on the forearm in the previous match, but he is now set to feature without restrictions.
Pant cleared after a minor injury
Pant suffered a blow to his left forearm while facing a short delivery, forcing him to briefly leave the field. The incident sparked fears of a serious injury, but a medical assessment later confirmed it was only a bruise and not a fracture. Bowling coach Bharat Arun clarified that the injury was not severe, allowing Pant to recover quickly.

Although Pant returned to bat in the same game, he appeared uncomfortable and did not continue for long. However, the absence of structural damage ensured there was no risk of a long-term setback.
Positive signs in training
In the lead-up to the clash against the Punjab Kings, Pant trained normally with the squad. The coaching staff reported no visible discomfort in his batting or movement during practice sessions. Arun noted that Pant looked completely at ease, reinforcing confidence in his match readiness.
Big boost for LSG
Pant’s availability is a significant lift for Lucknow Super Giants, especially amid an inconsistent run this season. As captain and a key middle-order batter, his presence strengthens both leadership and batting depth.
