Fans of IPL and Chennai Super Kings had to wait for so long to watch a glimpse of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The heartthrob of many Indians, the Thala of Chennai, came out on the field during the mid-match break for a team photo at Chepauk as CSK is playing their last home game at Chepauk.

Fans have waited for 63 matches to watch the legend of the game. The captain and supremo of Chennai Super Kings has ruled himself out for the first two weeks with a calf injury, which came in the news just two days ago, for their first match. But the wait only continued, fans kept hope, but felt disappointment only. Stephen Fleming, in a press conference, confirmed that MSD had injured himself for the second time and that only delayed the wait, and once he became fit, many of the experts, including Ashwin, hinted that he would not disrupt the winning combination, and thus he remained unavailable for the next matches. He also did not take flights to the other venues and continued to rehab from the team hotel.

Emotions flooded as fans got ‘Thala Darishanam’

When the Chennai Super Kings' supreme MS Dhoni came out in the field unexpectedly, fans enjoyed the moment with loud cheers. The five-time IPL-winning captain and three-time ICC-winning captain, who shaped the modern Indian cricket team, and also shaped the childhood of Gen Z and Gen Alpha, came out for the last team photo at Chepauk for this season. Nostalgia struck hard for the fans. The man who once conquered the IPL and the world has now come to the end of his career. Fans were very much anticipating that the 45-year-old wicket-keeper batsman would take the field today, but in the toss, Ruturaj Gaikwad confirmed that he is not fit yet to play. “Hopefully we win this one, and you'll never know in the last game”, Ruturaj Gaikwad said.
