For many people, money seems to disappear quickly despite putting in tons of hard work, often making it difficult to save or plan for the future. According to Vastu Shastra, everyday habits inside the bedroom may influence not only health and relationships but also financial stability. Small behaviours that might seem harmless can disrupt the flow of positive energy in the home.

Here are five common bedroom habits that Vastu experts say could quietly affect your finances:

Eating food on the bed

Eating meals or snacks while sitting or lying on the bed may feel convenient, but Vastu discourages this practice. According to traditional beliefs, consuming food on the bed reflects a lack of respect for nourishment and may attract negative energy associated with Rahu. This can result in unexpected expenses, health issues and financial strain over time. A simple alternative is to eat meals at a dining table or on the floor.

Keeping junk or shoes under the bed

Many households use the space under the bed for storage. However, keeping clutter such as old shoes, unused items, or random junk in this area is considered unfavourable in Vastu. Such clutter is believed to block the flow of positive energy and may hinder financial growth. It may also create tension in household finances. Keeping this space clean and organised is thought to allow energy to circulate more freely.

Placing medicines or water near the pillow

Leaving water bottles or medicines near the head while sleeping is a common habit. Vastu, however, suggests avoiding this arrangement. Water near the head is believed to strengthen Moon-related energy, which may increase worries and emotional stress. Similarly, medicines placed near the pillow symbolically invite recurring health concerns, which can lead to higher expenses.

Dirty bed and scattered clothes

An untidy bedroom can disturb the balance of energy in the house. Leaving beds unmade or clothes scattered around the room may activate what Vastu describes as Rahu-Ketu dosha. This condition is believed to cause expenses to arise before income arrives. Maintaining a tidy bedroom and making the bed each morning are simple practices believed to support financial stability.

Mirror directly facing the headboard

Mirrors in the bedroom can influence the energy of the space. According to Vastu guidelines, a mirror reflecting the head while sleeping may create a Vastu defect that affects both health and finances. If relocating the mirror is not possible, covering it with a cloth during the night is often suggested as a practical solution.
