Facial puffiness in the morning is quite common and typically safe. It usually happens as a result of daily routines and normal bodily functions as you sleep. You can better handle it and get up feeling refreshed, given that you know the reasons.

What were the reasons behind it?

The retention of fluid during sleep is one of the primary causes of a puffy face. The fluids typically gather in your face rather than flowing downhill due to gravity because your body remains flat for hours. This explains why you frequently have morning puffiness above your eyes and cheeks, which eventually goes away when you start movement.

Another factor is your diet. Your body may collect extra water, especially if you eat salty foods late at night, which can make your face and stomach appear bloated. Limiting your intake of salty foods can have a noticeable impact, especially at night. Having a routine sleep schedule and improving the quality of your sleep will help your body reduce stress.
