Yash Dayal, a prominent name of the IPL circuit, is going to miss the whole IPL season for personal reasons. Mo Bobat, the director of cricket of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, has confirmed the news. Bobat quoted Yash Dayal’s situation as a personal matter. Yash Dayal was a crucial member of the 2025 winning squad, but in late 2025, an alleged rape allegation was made against him.

After that, he has not made an appearance in the field; his unavailability will cost heavily, though RCB has another left-hand bowling option, such as Mangesh Yadav, or they can also fill the vacancy with Rasikh Dar Salam.
What does Mo Bobat say?
At a pre-tournament press conference in Bengaluru, Bobat said, "Just to confirm that Yash will not be joining the squad. As you know, he's going through a personal situation. And just to clarify, we've been very supportive of Yash to date. And that's reflected in the fact that we retained him when we had the opportunity to either retain or release players. We wanted to retain him."
He also added that it will not be in the best interest of RCB at this point “ He remains under contract and will continue to, in the short term, be foreseeable to remain under contract. We are communicating with him regularly, and I spoke to him earlier today as well. But it's been decided that it is not in his best interest, or the franchise's best interest, for him to join RCB at this point.”

Bobat also gave an update on Josh Hazlewood, saying, “ Josh has missed quite a bit of cricket recently with injuries. So he's currently working through a return-to-play programme. He's doing that in Australia currently. We are liaising very closely with both Josh and Cricket Australia. And our medical teams are collaborating very strongly on a day-to-day basis on this programme.”
End of a bright career for Yash Dayal
The left-hander is not only promising at the start but also useful in death. His crucial overs in the final helped Bengaluru to take the crown; his performance also knocked the selectors' door, but the alleged allegation that has been made against him cast a cloud of questions on his character, which BCCI strictly don’t allow. Losing crucial campaigns at the start of his career can cause harm on excellence.
